Visual aides such as infographics, videos, charts, and other images are a great way to quickly grasp key concepts of important topics. I’m a fan of infographics and, judging by the response on Edudemic, you’re a fan too.
While infographics aren’t exhaustive or authoritative, they’re useful ways to quickly introduce key concepts to a large group of people. But why is that? What’s the science behind it all?
Now that my book "The Visual Marketing Revolution" has launched, I am reflecting on what I hoped to deliver. I'm also listening to a lot of feedback (and look forward to hearing yours as well.)
I have been working online for almost 20 years, starting at AOL in 1994. I have used mind maps for almost that long and have always worked visually. The thing that attracted me to AOL was the visual interface that helped people at all skill levels enjoy an online experience. Working with online companies over the years has given me the greatest appreciation about what holds companies back.
What I wanted to do with this book was give you every idea, method and tactic I knew of to help you get value from visual thinking. The book contains ideas for using visuals to help you, your staff and colleagues and your customers benefit.
I hope you'll let me know if you have any thoughts about how I can continue to add to your appreciation of the value of using visuals for thinking and marketing.

Here's an interesting primer on creating sketchnotes by Makayla Lewis. Because of their visual nature, sketchnoting helps you remember more. It can be intimidating, but starting small and practicing is the best way to learn.
June 10, 2013 · blog.ted.com · Posted by: Becky Chung June 10, 2013 at 10:00 am BST Makayla Lewis sketched these notes while watching Amanda Palmer’s TED Talk online. At TED 2011, Sunni Brown encouraged doodling everywhere – classrooms and meeting rooms included. “The doodle … engages all four learning modalities simultaneously, with the possibility of an emotional experience,” she says in her classic talk. Sunni Brown: Doodlers, unite!Yes, it’s proven that doodling helps you remember things more efficiently. Graphic notetaking is the doodle, evolved and... Open this article

June 4, 2013 · marketeer.kapost.com · June 4, 2013 By Chris Williams 2 Comments When marketers start thinking about using content to optimize their sales funnel, typically, they think about optimization before the sale is made. A prospect turns into a lead, and a lead turns into a sale, and the job is done. But the most successful marketers begin by optimizing the bottom of the funnel first, not the other way around. These marketers focus first on turning leads into sales, then...
